The observatory is continually developing and improving. From a mere shed it has evolved to what it is today with an adequate living area and ablutions. This has all being made possible from the funding provided from donations from members of the public who have attended a public viewing evening, corporate donations and donations from institutions like schools and scouts and donations from our sponsors.

In 2005/6, the observatory has plans to build a new storeroom for equipment, a new housing for Chris' telescope and to upgrade the living area. The main bungalow needs some work done on the roof. There is also the need to erect more and better seating for public viewing nights. When the observatory started it had on average only a dozen or so visitors a night, this figure can now reach over 100 people a night!!! On the equipment side there is a project to have a CCD camera mounted on a telescope with the resulting image displayed on a monitor during some open public viewing nights.
